Simple Four Ingredient Salsa Recipe

This super fresh 4 ingredient salsa recipe is special. It was created by my husband’s grandpa and has been a staple in our family for years. In the summer, we make this salsa at least once a week and is one of our favorite things to bring to summer get-togethers. It is so fresh, delicious and super simple to make.
Our favorite way to make this salsa is using fresh ingredients from our garden. But, if you don’t have access to fresh vegetables, it is still super yummy! You most likely have most of these items already in your pantry.
Salsa Recipe
To be honest, writing this recipe was a bit difficult for me. We always just throw the ingredients in the bowl and taste test. So, actually coming up with the measurements was a task. For the ingredients, I usually stick to the four that my grandpa-in-law came up with. Tomatoes, pickled banana peppers, pickled jalapeños and green onion. I have occasionally thrown in some garlic, fresh herbs, salt, etc. But my hubby always just prefers the basic four ingredients. Please feel free to make it your own! My husband likes it decently spicy, but you can certainly change the amounts of the jalapeño if you’re not a big fan of spice. I’ve actually made separate bowls for my hubby and I because I don’t care for a ton of spice, where as my husband could literally eat a fresh jalapeño without even blinking. Like what even?!
The actual recipe is so quick to throw together. You just dice up all of the veggies, throw it in a bowl and enjoy! The longer it sits in the fridge, the tastier it gets. We like to serve the salsa with scoop-able chips. You know the ones that are the perfect vessel to hold all the deliciousness. This salsa is also great in recipes and homemade burrito bowls.
