Quick lunches for on the go

Life is more busy than ever! Lunch time can be difficult when your on the go. I’ve listed a few of my favorite go to meals, that everyone in my family loves, especially when were on the run.
Nut butter and jam roll ups
These roll ups are so simple to make. You’ll need just 3 ingredients.
- flour tortillas
- nut butter of your choice
- jam or jelly of your choice
To make these you’ll start by laying out a few tortillas and spreading your nut butter and jam across the surface. Then just roll them up and slice them into 1-2 inch wheels. Throw them in a bag or container and go! Pair with some fresh apple slices or carrots and you’ve got a simple and healthy lunch.
Meat and cheese roll ups
These are basically the same as the nut butter and jam roll ups, just with lunch meat and cheese. Just grab a tortilla, some meat and cheese and you’ve got a delicious roll up. You could add mayo, mustard or any condiment of your choice. You could leave them in a wrap or slice them into wheels.
Salami roll ups
Continuing with our roll up trend, and similar to meat and cheese roll ups, these salami roll ups are super delicious! You just need salami and cream cheese. You’ll just take a little cream cheese and spread it over the salami and then roll it up. That’s all! We sometimes add pickles or everything bagel seasoning as well. You can just throw your salami roll ups in a baggie and go!
To switch it up a bit, you could use a tortilla to make more of a wrap. Just spread the cream cheese on your tortilla, place a few salami slices and roll it up.
Homemade Lunchables
This is probably one of my kids’ favorite lunches! We make these at least twice a week, even if we’re not on the run. The options are endless. An example of our lunchables incude:
- Lunch meat like ham, turkey, salami or pepperoni
- Cheese
- Crackers or pretzels
- A few nuts or seeds
- Fruit
- Veggies
My kids love the variety and it is actually a really healthy meal that is easy to pack. I usually just toss each ingredient in an individual bag and then when we’re ready to eat, I have the kids pick out what they want and we put everything on paper plates. You could also use a compartment lunch box or make your own using a food storage container and little muffin tin liners.
No-Bake Energy Bites

We love these no-bake energy bites. All you need are quick oats, a nut butter, honey and chocolate chips. These are also delicious with dried fruits, seeds, or chopped nuts. You could completely skip the chocolate chips or even use pure maple syrup instead of honey. You really can’t go wrong with these easy energy bites. They freeze well too!
It’s always nice to have quick options to grab on the go so you can skip the fast food drive-through. With just a few ingredients on hand, you can get creative and pack a decent lunch for on the go.
