Easy No-Bake Energy Bites

My boys are huge snackers. Like ten minutes after lunch I’m asked, “Mom, I’m hungry! Can I have a snack?” We go through so many fruits, veggies, nuts and cheese because these are usually the easiest and most healthy “quick snacks” that I can find. So, I have been on a search to find heathy snacks that I can make with ingredients we probably already have in the pantry.
A Healthy Snack Option
I am always looking for healthy snacks that we can grab quickly. These easy no-bake energy bites are a favorite in our home! They are so simple to make. I like to make them into bite sized balls or bars. Both options are easy to grab on the go. I usually place them in a little container or baggie.
Simple Ingredients
These no-bake energy bites contain just four main ingredients, but you can add any additions that you’d like. Our usual additions are chopped nuts, chia seeds or flax seeds. The main ingredients that you’ll need are peanut butter, instant or quick oats, mini chocolate chips and honey. You could totally leave out the mini chocolate chips if you prefer or even substitute them for mini M&M’s if you wanted to make them fun and colorful. You could also use a different nut butter if you wanted.

We use an instant organic oatmeal from our local grocery store that is certified glyphosate free. I have found that it is really simple to find oats that are glyphosate free by just searching in Google or the EWG website, if this is something that is important to you.
We also love to use local honey for all of our recipes. Honey contains many amazing health benefits. Using local honey has been known to help with seasonal allergies. Honey is also antimicrobial and can help kill certain bacteria. Oh how we love honey! And the sweet honey bees!
How to Store
These energy bites literally last like three days in our home. The boys just eat them up! And of course we enjoy a couple here and there. We prefer to store our bites in the fridge because they will last longer (although they never last long!) and they will be firmer. They are totally fine in a container on the counter for a week or so, but they will be softer and slightly messier.
This recipe is really a no fail recipe. Super simple, super delicious! And everyone in your family is sure to love them!

No-Bake Energy Bites
Yummy energy bites that taste like a cookie!
Ingredients
- 3 cups of quick oats
- 1 cup of smooth peanut butter
- 1/2 cup of honey
- 1/3 cups of mini chocolate chips
- optional 1-2 tablespoons of chia seeds
Instructions
- Add all of the ingredients into a bowl.
- Mix to combine until everything comes together (I often have to use my hands).
- Use a cookie scoop to create bites or press the entire mixture into a 9x13 baking dish and slice into bars.
- Store in the fridge in an airtight container for firmer bites or on the counter for softer bites.
Notes
These energy bites can be stored on the counter but will have a sticky soft consistency. We like to refrigerate them so they last longer and are firmer.
You can substitute any nut butter of your choice.
